TAQDEER AWARD PAYS TRIBUTE TO WORKERS ON INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY

Dubai, UAE, April 30, 2017: Taqdeer Award has appreciated workers for their dedication, hard work and strong contribution to the growth and prosperity of Dubai’s economy on International Labour Day, is a celebration of achievements of labourers and working classes, which falls on May 1.
The Taqdeer Award, launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, is the world’s first points-based award programme for recognising excellence in labour welfare practices and seeks to promote international best practices in labour welfare and enhance relationship between companies and workers.
Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, Chairman of Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs (PCLA) and Chairman of Taqdeer Award, said: “Workers are our partners in success and I would specially like to thank every worker for his hard work, dedication and contribution in the growth and success of our country. In recognition of their contribution and to inspire them to deliver their best, Taqdeer Award honours workers for their excellence.”
After the remarkable success of its first edition, which included companies in the construction sector, Taqdeer Award will soon launch its second edition.
“I look forward to contributing together to reach heights that are globally unprecedented on the level of cooperation between employers and workers and making the Taqdeer Award a bigger success as we widen its reach and extend it to include companies and factories in the free zones in its 2nd cycle.
